Maintenance Technician

Location: Toronto, ON
Pay: $28–$36/hour, based on experience and qualifications
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Morning Shift

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
• Repair and maintain conveyors, motors, pumps, mixers, packaging machines, and other production equipment.
• Inspect equipment, replace worn parts, lubricate machinery, and make adjustments as needed.
• Assist with equipment installation, setup, and changeovers.
• Read and follow electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and help reduce production downtime.
• Maintain maintenance records and work orders.
• Follow GMP, HACCP, WHMIS, Lockout/Tagout, and workplace safety procedures.
• Work with the production team to identify and resolve equipment problems.

Requirements

• 2+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in food manufacturing, production, or packaging.
• Good mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Familiarity with motors, pumps, conveyors, sensors, and production equipment.
• Able to read basic schematics, drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, or VFD systems is an asset.
• 433A Millwright or 442A Industrial Electrician certification is an asset.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
